Title: Adding Unwitting Web Browsersto Anonymity Sets Research Question: Can we find a way to add unwitting web browsers to anonymity sets, thereby increasing the size and effectiveness of these sets? Methodology: The researchers proposed a new covert channel technique called "Web Anonymity Injection" (WAInj) to achieve their goal. WAInj involves injecting a small piece of code into a web page that a user is viewing. This code, when executed, creates a new anonymity set for the user and adds them to it. The anonymity set is a group of users who share the same anonymity properties, such as the same IP address or the same browser fingerprint. Results: The researchers found that their WAInj technique was successful in adding unwitting web browsers to anonymity sets.
