Title: Lexical Base as a Compressed Language Mode of the World Research Question: Can a list of words selected by statistical methods be considered a system of interrelated items, forming a "lexical base" that covers all aspects of human activity? Methodology: The study investigates the selection principles of the Ukrainian language's lexical base by examining the differences in stylistic, temporal, and environmental factors of word usage. It compares the lexical bases of various languages, such as English, German, Spanish, French, Polish, Russian, and others, to determine commonalities and differences. The research also analyzes the proportions and selection of words from different functional genres in frequency dictionaries. Results: The study finds that the lexical base of a language is a universal feature of human lexicon organization. It reveals that the lexical base of Ukrainian language consists of five functional genres: belles-lettres, journalistic, colloquial (spoken language), scientific, and official. The research suggests that the lexical base can be used to simplify the process of semantization in language explanatory dictionaries. Implications: This research contributes to the understanding of language structure and organization. By identifying a common lexical base across different languages, it provides a framework for comparing and analyzing language systems. The study also offers insights into the selection and proportions of words from different functional genres in frequency dictionaries, which can be applied to improve language learning and translation processes.
